Times When Jamie Has Nearly Died
1743 - at the Abbey of Ste. Anne de Beaupre. After being physically and psychologically abused by Jack Randall, Jamie's smashed right hand becomes infected and he develops a very high fever. As well as being very ill physically he is so psychologically damaged by Randall that he does not want to live. It is only Claire's love, determination and unorthodox exorcising of his demons that allows Jamie to pull through (Outlander, chapter 39)
1746 - Battle of Culloden. Jamie's leg is badly wounded with a bayonet and becomes infected (V, chapter 1)
1766: Laoghaire shoots Jamie in the hand and side and the wound becomes infected. Claire uses the penicillin she brought back through the stones to treat it (V, chapter 37)
