Unnamed solider in Wentworth Prison - a soldier appears while Claire is trying to find Jamie in Wentworth Prison, alerted by the prisoners she has inadvertently freed, and Claire is forced to stab him to evade capture (Outlander, chapter 35)
Unnamed soldier outside Wentworth Prison - four soldiers stop Jamie, Claire and Murtagh as they are travelling to the coast after leaving MacRannoch's house. When one soldier demands that Jamie takes off his hat to reveal his face Jamie is forced to shoot him. While Jamie and Murtagh deal with two of the other soldiers the fourth takes off on his horse and Jamie throws Claire his pistol and tells her to stop him. Claire shoots and wounds both the horse and the soldier but doesn't kill them. She cannot let the soldier live as he can identify all three of them and knows that they are headed towards the coast. Claire sees that the soldier is a young boy of about 16 but she still has to kill him and does so by plunging her dirk into his neck at the base of his skull (Outlander, chapter 37)
